Do you know what Yahweh has done for you? If you were one of the 19 campers attending Kid’s Kamp 2011, you would know for sure! This year’s theme “Yahweh-What He Has Done” helped the campers realize all the amazing things Yahweh has done and is doing in our lives.

Each day we learned about a different blessing Yahweh has given us. On Monday the kids learned that Yahweh has given us all wonderful talents that we should use as a blessing to those around us as well as in serving Yahweh. Tuesday brought a study on Yahweh’s beautiful creation. On Wednesday the campers discovered that Yahweh has a plan for each of us. We studied the story of John the Baptist and learned that, just like us, Yahweh had a plan for him, even before he was born.  Thursday’s topic was on Yahweh’s light.  Yahweh is our light in the darkness. Finishing up the week’s worth of lessons we learned that Yahweh is always with us. As it says in Deuteronomy 31, Yahweh will never leave us or forsake us. Each Bible lesson was taught with fun activities to go along with the story. There was also a memory verse to accompany every day’s lesson.

Beside the great lessons learned, each day was filled with smiles and laughter as the energetic kids enjoyed a variety of sports and games. We played “big ball” volleyball, kickball, a variety of water games, and bingo, to name a few.  The kids also had a lot of fun breaking a piñata. During that activity we lined the kids up from youngest to oldest, thinking that most of the kids would get a turn taking a swing. What we didn’t count on was the fact that we have some strong little guys! The piñata busted by the time it reached the 5th child. No one seemed to mind too much though as they swarmed to collect as much candy as they could.

Craft time was another enjoyable portion of each day.  They handcrafted “snowless” snow globe and light houses, painted animals, etc. It was fun to watch the kids being so creative!

All week long the kids were looking forward to the end-of-camp outing. This year we went to CiCi’s Pizza and to Flipz. Flipz is a gymnastics facility with a ton of fun things for our spirited young ones to enjoy. The kids had a blast bouncing on ground level trampolines, climbing a rock wall, balancing on balancing beams, trying out the uneven bars, doing summersaults, and just running around bouncing off the walls!

The week was such a joy and a blessing. It was great spending time with the kids and getting to know each of them better while watching them grow stronger in their faith and closer to their friends. All of the kids had really great attitudes!  It was by far one of the best Kid’s Kamps yet!  My kids are already asking when we are going to have Kids Kamp again.
